Flying Dutchman

Captain: Regina Romani
Co-Captains: Philip Romani, Ed "Duke" Brady, Kaela Romani, Alyssa Romani

History:
Flying Dutchman originated in the Grays Ferry section of South Philly in 1956. The club has been marching with the Murray Club since 1973 as both a brigade and group. Flying Dutchman has participated in the Columbus Day Parade, Summer Mummers Parades, numerous Easter Seal’s telethons, and blockades, and the Special Olympics. In 1984, Flying Dutchman allowed the first female member to participate in their male dominated club. The female member was Sacha Brady, Duke’s daughter.  In 1994 "Duke" enrolled John Romani into the Flying Dutchman. At that time, John was a two year old autistic child.  Today, he is a person who looks forward to the mummers parade.  In 2013 "Duke" stepped down as captain and handed over the reigns to Philip Romani and Regina Romani, who are brother and sister. Flying Dutchman remains a family oriented club.
